The dashboard is the openITCOCKPIT home page and consists of only one tab by default.

You can switch between the different tabs by clicking on each respective tab. To display the context menu shown above, you must click on the small arrow next to the tab name. The following functions are available here.

Rename: For renaming the tab.

Start sharing: Here you can share your configured tab (including all widgets) with other users.

Delete: Deletes the tab.


This button can be used to create new tabs. It opens the following window.

To create a new empty tab, enter a name for the tab in the upper section and click on the "Create new tab" button.

To create a tab from a template, select a shared tab from the list and click "Create from shared tab". If you create a tab from a template and something about the template is then changed, the following dialog will appear when you next access the tab.

You can then choose whether you want to update your tab or not.


 With this button a time interval can be set to switch automatically to the next tab or, for a single tab, to reload it after the defined time interval has elapsed.


To add widgets to the tab, click on the green 'Add Widget' button and select the desired widget from the list.


 You can change the default title for each widget by clicking on the pencil.

You can change the background colour of the header by clicking on the colour field.

Clicking this button will remove the widget from the dashboard.

With this button you can enlarge or reduce the widget as desired.


1. Welcome widget:

Shows you what timezone you configured and how many hosts and services are monitored.


2. Parent outages widget:

Displays a list of all unreachable linked parent objects.


3. Hosts pie chart widget:

Display a pie chart of all host states. You can click on the state color below the chart get to a list of all objects in the particular state.


4. Hosts pie chart 180 widget:

Displays a half pie chart of all hosts and their state.


5. Services pie chart widget:

Display a pie chart of all service states. You can click on the state color below the chart get to a list of all objects in the particular state.


6. Services pie chart 180 widget:

Displays a half pie chart of all services including their state.



7. Hosts in downtime widget:

Displays a list of all hosts that are currently in downtime.


8. Services in downtime widget:

Displays a list of all services that are currently in downtime.


9. Hosts status list widget:

Shows you hosts with different states in a listing, which automatically browses through the pages by the configured interval.


10. Host status overview widget:

Shows the number of hosts in a given state.


11. Service status list widget:

Shows you services with different states in a listing, which automatically browses through the pages by the configured interval.


12. Service status overview widget:

Shows the number of services in a given state.


13. Traffic light widget:

Displays a service's status in the form of a traffic light.


14. Tachometer widget:

Displays the current performance data of a service in the form of a tachometer.


15. Notice widget:

Allows you to save a small note on the dashboard.




By clicking the 'Restore default' button in the 'Add Widget' menu you can create a default dashboard in the current tab.
